The 3950 Bloom Tracer is a spaceship originally designed and manufactured during the Millennial Calm sometime between the years 3950 CGC and 4000 CGC. Its name is thought to derive from its "mushroom"-like silhouette evoking the sense of a blooming plant. It was originally designed for trade and other business ventures requiring vast quantities of objects to be shipped between planets.
In modern Ealdremen, the 3950 Bloom Tracer is known for being one of the first tradeships to be successfully restored into working operations after the Millennial Calm by the company Eccempasso. The 3950 Bloom Tracer and ships related to it are often called "hungry ships" for their enormous cargo bays that never seem full enough to their crew, and they are highly coveted among businesses hoping to establish footprints across multiple planets or their satellites.
Because of the ship's size, the 3950 Bloom Tracer is extremely expensive to refuel, and it is consequently important for these ships to be at full capacity before disembarking; an empty Bloom Tracer is wasted space and represents a potentially devastating financial loss if too many inefficient trips are made.
